Frequently Asked Questions

Honestly? A silly love song.

Mud, Boots, and Moonlight began when Daisy sent Eli the lyrics to I Found My Unicorn—a playful ode to the mythical man who can fix the sink, dance in the kitchen, and somehow remember both chainsaws and flowers.

What started as one ridiculous, heartfelt song unexpectedly opened the floodgates.

Behind that spark was already decades of shared history, storytelling, music, dark humor, love of the land, and a tendency to ask “what if…” far more often than reasonable adults probably should.

Country storytelling turned out to be the perfect campfire for all of it.

Yes.

Daisy Thorn and Eli Walker are artistic personas created by two very real longtime collaborators with decades of shared history, creative chemistry, and a mutual love of storytelling.

Like many artists before us, we enjoy creating through a little myth and moonlight while keeping parts of our personal lives private.

Mud, Boots, and Moonlight is its own campfire.

Because storytelling is more fun in good boots.

Seriously though—Daisy Thorn and Eli Walker give us a little creative breathing room.

They’re artistic personas, not fake people.

Mud, Boots, and Moonlight exists as its own musical corner of our creative lives, where stories can be heartfelt, ridiculous, or somewhere in between.

Some are deeply personal.

Some are playful fiction.

Most contain pieces of both.

Good storytelling tends to work that way.

That depends how poetic you're feeling. 😉

What we can say is this: behind Mud, Boots, and Moonlight are two people with decades of shared history, deep creative chemistry, and enough stories to keep us busy for quite a while.

Some things are better left a little moonlit.

Mud, Boots, and Moonlight begins with human storytelling.

The ideas, lyrics, emotional heart, humor, heartbreak, and wonderfully questionable “what if…” moments are ours.

Like many modern independent artists, we use a mix of creative tools—including AI-assisted tools for parts of music production, visual art, and video creation.

But MBM is far from a push-button project.

Eli brings decades of musical experience, often building from original riffs, shaping arrangements, and refining tracks in the studio long after the initial spark.

However the song begins, the creative direction, storytelling, and final artistic vision are deeply human.

Pretty much wherever music lives these days.

You’ll find Mud, Boots, and Moonlight on major streaming platforms including YouTube Music, Spotify, Apple Music, and more.

 Because life is weird.

Some days call for longing.
Some call for resilience.
Some call for dragons.
Some call for witches with bruised toes.

Country storytelling should have room for all of it.

Mostly country storytelling—with a little cinematic flair, a little Americana soul, and occasional moonlit nonsense.

We’re less interested in strict genre boxes and more interested in songs that make people feel something.

Both of us.

Eli brings decades of musical experience, songwriting, arrangement, and production.

Daisy brings stories, emotional sparks, lyrical ideas, and the occasional beautifully terrible idea that somehow becomes a song.

Some songs begin with lyrics.
Some begin with melody.
Some begin with someone saying, “Hear me out…”

Right now Mud, Boots, and Moonlight lives primarily in the studio and online, where the stories are free to roam.
